Petrolia Fall Fair 2018
It is fair season! One of the simple pleasures I look forward to enjoying with my family during the fall. We love the fair for the food. As soon as we walked into the fair on Sunday, we all started reading the menu signs at the various food trucks. All of the delicious smells make it easy to get hungry the minute you walk through the gate.
We watched some of the demolition derby first. It was my first time seeing this event live. It was loud, a little smokey and entertaining, even the kids were amused by the smashing cars (I wasn't sure if Lizzy would be a little scared). Watching the derby got our adrenaline pumping and our appetite going so we headed to a truck for lunch. The kids shared a hot dog and fries, I had a jumbo cheese dog, Tyler had chilli cheese fries and my mom had a chicken burger. We all shared bites of our food and everything was delicious.
Next we went on some rides. Next time I think we will do rides first and then eat lunch, our stomaches were feeling a little crazy on the spinning tea cups. Elizabeth really surprises me lately with her bravery, she enjoyed all of the rides she went on and would have gone on some bigger ones like brother, if she was tall enough.
We finished the afternoon with chocolate chip cookies and the tractor pull. We had to head home because Elizabeth was tired but I am sure Luke could have stayed until the end to watch every single tractor. Next weekend is the Wyoming fair, I am not sure if we will make it to that one but we are planning on the Brigden fair for sure. Which fall fairs are your favourite and what is your favourite part of the fair? Take part in the conversation on social media, I love hearing from you guys.

Spring Temps & Spray Tans
I am excited to be collaborating with Bronze Bodies Sarnia on todays post to offer you some tips for prepping your skin for a spray tan.
1. Moisturize your entire body regularly after washing to increase the moisture levels of your skin.
2. Exfoliate your body with a loofa regularly in the shower to remove dry patchy skin.
3. Exfoliate your face twice in the week leading up to your spray tan to ensure your surface skin cells are even.
4. Shave 24 to 48 hours before your spray tan.
5. Shower 24 to 12 hours before your spray tan but not the day of to ensure your body is fully and evenly dry.
6. The morning of your spray tan do not shower, moisturize or apply deodorant to assist in getting the most even tan application.
Come along with me on my Saturday as I get my spray tan and enjoy the awesome warm weather with my family.
Happy Bronzing!

He Will Be A Great Big Brother
This past weekend my cousin Nicole, her husband Kody and their little guy Clark came to stay with us as we all celebrated the opening of my sisters dance studio. It was a full weekend of activities but the little moments around our house where these two little cousins got to meet and connect were my favourite!
Last week I set up the play pen and organized our spare bedroom for our house guests, I let Luke know baby Clark was coming for a sleepover and he was so excited. When our guests arrived, Luke was excited to show Clark all of his toys and play with him, he was fascinated by his littler feet and the noises he made and only got a little bit jealous when Dad and I took turns holding him.
Clark was equally fascinated by Luke and the visit couldn't have gone better. Seeing Luke with Clark made me so happy to see the next generation on our family begin to form their own bonds and made me even more excited for Luke to officially become a big brother to our second little.

Easter Weekend 2016
This Easter was a blast, so many good times with friends and family, we are feeling blessed and tired today! Our get togethers keep growing as my generation begins their own families and as Luke gets older things get more entertaining.
You guys know I love great food and treats, let me tell you, I am one spoiled girl to have some amazing chefs in my family! Ty's dad and my Aunt Tina stole the show this year pulling together some amazing, classic home cooked meals.
I also made time to reflect on the death and rising of Jesus because while all the egg hunts and chocolate are fantastic, I am most of all grateful to be saved from my sins and to have the Holy Spirit guide me as I navigate life.
I hope your Easter was blessed! Check out this fun video and pictures from our weekend below.
Wishing you faith, family, friends and great food!

Weekend Getaway - Toronto
Years ago, I received wise advice from a friend who has been married for 25 years. She told me, "make sure you get off the couch every once in a while and get out with your husband just the two of you". I took that advice this weekend and Tyler and I went to Canadas Wonderland and then to Toronto for the night.
The day before we left, I was having serious anxiety about leaving Luke, I knew he would be perfectly fine with my mom but I was afraid I was going to miss him too much. I was also feeling a little guilty about doing something fun without him.
As soon as the car was packed on Saturday morning and we were on the road with coffees in hand, I knew we needed this and I knew everything would be fine. After the anxiety of leaving Luke was gone, the anxiety of riding roller coasters began to set in (yes, I am a very anxious person).
It had been 15 years since I had been on a roller coaster but I really wanted a fun exciting day with my husband and Tyler and I had never been to a theme park together. As we waited in line for the rides we chatted. I got to tell Ty all the things about motherhood that I don't normally have time to tell him, like how annoying it is when you get a noisy cart at Walmart (I go to Walmart like once a week these days people, the smooth cart struggle is real).
As we waited in line for Behemoth, I started to get really nervous but I was like, hey if I can make it through labour and a cesarian, I can ride the ride. Then I proceeded to prepare for the climb as I did during labour, with focused deep breathing, Tyler said I looked hilarious.
Before we left the park for the day, we floated through the lazy river. All day we saw parents with children and we day dreamed and chatted about what it would be like, to take family vacations as our family gets older.
After the park we did a little shopping. Lucky for me, Ty likes shopping almost as much as I do. The rest of the trip was filled with relaxing walks, delicious food and rest in a cozy Westin bed. We loved our stay at the Westin and decided its our spot to stay when we go to Toronto. We also decided that during out next visit to the city, we need to venture over to Toronto Island. Have you ever been to Toronto Island? I would love to know what you thought and what your fav things to do in the city are?
I love my couch, my own bed and the mundane routine of my everyday life but I am grateful to get away once in awhile because it makes coming home, so much more sweet.
Special thanks to Granny Brown for holding down the fort and making the trip possible!
May your weekend be filled with a little adventure, off the couch!
xoxo

Gratitude Monday
Weekends are the best! Last week on Thursday night, I told Ty, "we need some family time just the three of us". The past few weekends Tyler and I have been having fun with our individual activities but we have totally been tag teaming with Luke. I am so glad we both have our own interests but it doesn't give us that focused family time that is also very important. Saturday was all about our little family.
We went grocery shopping together which I love because Tyler stops me from buying the same things and he always puts more treats in the cart than I do.
After shopping we went to lunch at Bains BBQ and it was so delicious. We will definitely be going back, our meals were great and as other customers food came out, I thought "I want to try that and that and that too", so we have to go back.
For dinner we had breakfast, pancakes and sausage, breakfast for dinner is so fun, it makes me feel like a kid. After Luke was down for the night, me and Ty had a skate date in the back yard.
On Sunday Marley, my mom and I went to church. Marley has been coming with me because she really likes Sunday school and then I have been bringing her back to my house for the afternoon. I love having her at my house and so does Luke. We ended the day at our friends Super Bowl party but Luke didn't make it to the game, he wasn't really into the party and was asleep by 6pm (he goes to bed early and wakes early but I love his routine). I am not really into sports but I love the food at a Super bowl party (big surprise) and I like the half time show. I thought Katy Perry's show was great, what did you think?
Today I am grateful for family time, puppet shows, Super Bowl parties and delicious food! What are you grateful for?

Happy Friday
TGIF folks! It's the weekend woohoo! Sure, I don't work 9 - 5 but I still love the weekend because it means:
1. Dad is around more during the day!
2. I get to stay up late!
3. We get to eat big breakfasts!
4. I normally get to fit in a Saturday morning yoga class!
5. We get to go to church!
And the list goes on and on. I try to make lists for each day and this weekend I would like to spend a little couch time reading some new blogs I discovered this week. If you have a chance, maybe check them out too.

I will also be hunting for baby food recipes and pinning them here because I think Luke is ready to start trying real food, I am so excited for this.
I will also be hunting on Pinterest for some lunch box inspiration and pinning my finds here. Tyler is getting sick of sandwiches and I don't blame him so its time to get creative and rock his lunch box!
I would love to hear if there is anything you will be checking out online this weekend or if you have any ideas for my pin boards.
Happy weekend friends!
