Gratitude Monday - The Sarnia Journal

God has been speaking to my heart for years telling me that if I follow His lead, He will take care of the rest. He told me that it may not always be an easy path, but He will give me what I need to overcome the challenges that are placed on the path we walk together.

I am doing my best to follow God in all I do, I fail often but our God is a forgiving one who is ready to give us another chance tomorrow. I am grateful and amazed how the Lord continues to bless my journey with Him. My story in this weeks edition of The Sarnia Journal is a perfect example of how blessed I am with opportunities to succeed where God is leading me.

If the Lord has ever called you into waters that you think are a little too deep for you, try not to be afraid and jump in holding His hand. He will get you where you need to go and take you places your imagination can't even dream of.

You reading my blog is a big part of my blessings as well, so thank you for stopping by. Life is awesome with God by your side and filled with so much purpose when you are living and working for something so much greater than yourself.

Weekend Wishes - Meg's Bachelorette

A few weekends ago I was lucky enough to go on a little girls weekend. This was my first time being away from Luke for two nights alone. Leading up to my weekend away, I was a little anxious about leaving home because I knew I would miss all my boys, (Tyler, Luke and Charlie). I knew they would have a blast without me but I was going to miss home.

I did have moments where I felt homesick, but for the most I just enjoyed some time with my girlfriends celebrating Meg as she gets ready to marry Jim. The weekend was a perfect blend of relaxation, girl talk,  adventure, good eats and laughs and some awesome memories were made. The highlight of the trip was of course TreeTop Trekking, I would recommend this activity for anyone who likes a little adventure, I would do it again!

If you have girlfriends who live out of town, you know what it feels like when you are together, extra special. When you can't see someone whenever you want, you really appreciate the time you have with them.

I captured some moments from our trip in the video below as well as some pictures of us getting ready for Saturday night dinner. Does anyone else agree that getting ready to go out at night, is the best part of the night?

What did you do for your last girls weekend adventure?

I Am Never Alone

Over the last year I have been making an effort to lay my life in Gods hands and walk with Jesus in all I do. It's been the best year of my life.

I have a healthy son which is a huge source of my new found joy and was an encouraging factor in me diving in to a deeper relationship with God, but the greatest source of my joy is from God.

This past week H.A.L. Makeup Artistry took me on a new adventure, business on the road for three days. This opportunity came at the end of a girls weekend away, so by coincidence it had me away from home the most I have been since Luke was born.

This time was trying on me emotionally, the feelings of loneliness reminded me of the first weeks at home with Luke while Tyler was on nights. Determined to do my job well and needing support, I turned to God. On my drives I blasted the teachings of Joyce Myer, shouted amen alone in my car and spent time with my Heavenly Father. I was reminded that he never leaves me alone.

In my times of loneliness, He does awesome work in me and I know he blessed me with this job on the road to get me alone in my car and teach me some lessons. I know my Heavenly Father is a great teacher so I am always on the look out for lessons in all I do, guidance in my work and correction in my failure. I also know it's not always all supposed to be figured out at once and maybe I just need to do my best to walk each day including Him in everything. In times of challenge I grow and for that I am grateful.

Moms Know Best

Sometimes, only another mother knows just what you as a mom need. She can quickly evaluate your current situation and provide you with exactly what you need before you even have a chance to ask. She can do this because she has been there and she chooses to do it because she is an awesome mom and knows that motherhood is best enjoyed with many hands making for light work.

The beautiful woman in the pictures below is a perfect example of this mothering skill. She is busy with her own two children, husband and career but is quick to lend a hand to any mom in need. She recognizes a mom in need before many can even see her struggle and then she is there in a flash to help out.

She is my sister and I am so grateful for her!!!

Luke - 11 Months

I didn't feel sappy about Luke growing, until this 11 month mark. I am just amazed at how much Luke has changed in 1 year. Everyone tells me to enjoy every moment I can with him and honestly, I really am trying to do that and having a blast along the way.

Luke, here are some things about you right now.

You really love your dad. If he is home, you want him.

You really like me too and are feeling pretty tight with me and dad these days.

You make a loud grunt yelling noise and bang on stuff, we are pretty sure you picked this up from Grandpa Brown.

You say dada and mama and you are trying to say other words by repeating what your dad and I say.

You can climb up stairs and you can almost climb down stairs without any help.

I think by the time you are 1 year old, you will be able to walk, your getting so close.

You love music.

You are a great dancer.

You are back to snuggling a little before bed in the rocking chair, dad and I are both loving it.

You love the water! You kick your feet and splash your arms around when we help you swim. When you go to the splash pad you run right through the water fountains.

You are a sweet happy guy and we love you.

xoxo,
your mom
