Running My Business God's Way | Its Not About Striving, Its About Relying

I love the story of David and Goliath. Whenever I feel inadequate in a situation I think of this story and remember that it is not my own strength that conquers the giants that stand before me, it is the strength of God in me. I only have tiny stones but with God behind me, before me, within me, I will conquer great feats.

Also, God's timing is perfect. I have had this video edited for about a week now but haven't had an opportunity to upload it so its perfect that I am able to share it on Easter weekend. This is why Jesus died for us on the cross, so that all of God's strengths are now available to each of us simply by accepting Jesus as our saviour.

God doesn't want me to work like crazy and spread myself thin to do His good work, He just wants me to come to Him with what I have, He just wants my heart.

In this video I share a little bit more detail on this topic and how God has been working in me not to strive but to simply rely on Him, I hope you will check it out and share your thoughts in the comments on social media.

Psalm 147:8-11 New International Version (NIV)

He covers the sky with clouds;
he supplies the earth with rain
and makes grass grow on the hills.
He provides food for the cattle
and for the young ravens when they call.
10 His pleasure is not in the strength of the horse,
    nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
11 the Lord delights in those who fear him,
who put their hope in his unfailing love.

Easter 2017

We were half an hour late for the party but we made it. Because we rushed out of the house, we didn't get to take a picture of everyone in their Easter outfits together so I said to Ty, "lets take a family picture as soon as we get to your parents house". We walked in the door, hugged, kissed, Luke took off his dress shirt and the perfect picture I had in my mind, went out the window. I got over it and had so much fun at the party. In the end, we got a picture with the Easter Bunny which may be my new favourite picture. I hope you had a blessed Easter weekend!

Here is a quick video of our weekend and some snaps too.

Easter Weekend 2016

This Easter was a blast, so many good times with friends and family, we are feeling blessed and tired today! Our get togethers keep growing as my generation begins their own families and as Luke gets older things get more entertaining.

You guys know I love great food and treats, let me tell you, I am one spoiled girl to have some amazing chefs in my family! Ty's dad and my Aunt Tina stole the show this year pulling together some amazing, classic home cooked meals.

I also made time to reflect on the death and rising of Jesus because while all the egg hunts and chocolate are fantastic, I am most of all grateful to be saved from my sins and to have the Holy Spirit guide me as I navigate life.

I hope your Easter was blessed! Check out this fun video and pictures from our weekend below.

Wishing you faith, family, friends and great food!

Gratitude Monday - I Am Grateful For Easter

I am grateful for Easter and the promise of new beginnings. I am grateful that forgiveness is freely available for me to accept each day because I mess up a lot.

I am grateful for appetizers and parties, eating little bites all day long is my favourite style of meal.

I am grateful for my husband and the many ways he surprises me. I am also grateful for the cuteness of father and son matching outfits.

I am grateful for my sisters.

I am grateful for my little family.

I am grateful for silly hats that make people laugh.

I am grateful for this crazy little dog/duck.

I am grateful for grandmas who play outside and on the ground with their grandchildren.

I am grateful for cousins, a bond that is stronger than friendship because you come from the same place.

I am grateful for birthdays, holidays and the memories that are made on these specials days when we all get to be together.

Lent - Giving Up Caffeine

Yesterday was the last day of lent so today I am back to drinking my regular caffeinated coffee. I am excited to be drinking regular coffee again because I really do love it. Through lent, I did learn that no matter the situation, it is important for me to maintain a steady level of self control, everything in moderation you know. Prior to lent my moderation was way off balance and I was using, "I am a new mom" as an excuse for too much of my coffee and treat eating habits.

I believe God wants us to enjoy our favourite things and find pleasure in something as simple as a great cup of coffee but anything, even a simple cup of coffee, is bad for me if it is not in moderation.

I am always super grateful for the lessons I learn at the end of lent, this time can often be a challenge but the rewards for going through any challenge, far outweigh the trial in the moment. I knew this wouldn't be an easy task for me but I did have faith that anything I do with the help of God, can be a success. I also learned that it's ok to ask God to be a part of every facet of my life, even something as silly as giving up caffeine, He wants to be a part of it all.

Easter is a time of new beginnings and today I am feeling really refreshed. I hope you have an amazing Easter weekend with your family and friends and that the Easter bunny brings you lots of chocolate to enjoy in moderation ;)

xoxo
