Hey guys, it has been on my heart to share a story and a time in my life that I am not proud of. I can share it with you today though, confident in who I am because of Gods amazing and endless grace. I am a new creation and my past is as far as the east is from the west because Jesus is my saviour.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

The Great Commission For 2018

I am not much of a New Years resolution person but I am always working on improving myself, setting goals and praying for God’s direction and strength as I move into new chapters of life.

I was feeling a little overwhelmed with one particular goal as I stepped out of bed on last Friday morning. 

My Bible study pointed me to Mark 16 15:19 

"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. '"

I am saved and so all of Jesus’s strength is with me in everything I do! I have faith that with Jesus I will accomplish amazing things and I will start my New Year with a hopeful heart for the work of God in my life. There is work and planning required on my part and I am excited to get at it and to see what God will do through me next. 

The enemy strives to overwhelm us and fill us with hopelessness because he is aware that all things are overcome through God. We need to believe with our hearts and minds and work with our hands and feet in a faith filled way that God is overcoming. God has already overcome and when we are saved His power is with us and within us. That just gets me right fired up, who is with me? And, who is pumped to see what God has in store for us in 2018!

Holiday Style

Here are some of my favourite outfits from the last few weeks of holiday events. I always have fun getting dressed and the holidays are no exception. I do not get super dressed up for every holiday get together, there were a few that were totally snuggly outfits. (let me know in the comments if you would like to see more everyday outfit posts) I thought it would be fun to share some special outfits and offer some inspiration for your dressing, for any parties you may have from now until New Years Eve. I have included lots of pictures, outfit details and some thoughts on how I put these outfits together. Twirl Worthy 
The Bradshaw skirt from Lace & Charm just makes me happy! If you have worn a tutu before, you know what I am talking about. Slipping this on allows me to step into full girly mode and I love that. I stayed cozy and comfortable by pairing it with a black turtle neck, tights and shoes and topped the whole look with a bold necklace that matched the colour of the skirt.

Shine On 

I put this outfit together for my Pether family Christmas, with the most important factor being comfort as we were in the car for a total of 5 hours that day. With comfort in mind, I grabbed my sequin front leggings. I purchased these maybe five years ago and always wear them around the holidays. I think sequins are actually a very classic staple to have in your wardrobe. I also have a sequin jacket that I have had for years and they always come in handy this time of year. I paired the pants with a black tunic, (pretty much a yoga outfit) but the sequins take it far beyond leisure wear. 

Cozy Flow

This was my Christmas Eve outfit at Tyler's parents house. This dress from Lace & Charm was from the spring collection but I have been waiting for an opportunity to wear it again and make it work in the winter. I paired it with black tights for church in the morning and when they ripped (lol) half way through the day, I put on my coziest stockings. I am glad my tights ripped because I love this combo so much more. The socks made the look much more relaxed and effortless. I purchased the socks a few winters ago from Comme Moi Boutique. 

I hope you found some fashion inspiration hear. I try to be creative and fearless with my outfits, fashion is such a fun way to express myself!

Thanksgiving 2017 | Brigden Fair | HWY 21 Drive

Thanksgiving; gratitude, food and family. The awesomeness of Christmas without the pressure of gifts. This weekend we did all the things we normally do on Thanksgiving weekend, traditions like a trip to the Brigden Fair and a HWY 21 drive north to Port Elgin. I love it all, every bit of it. The craziness of getting our family out the door on a schedule, keeping kids happy on long car rides, a few disagreements with the husband because we have spent the last 24 hours very closely together, the hugs and kisses, the falling into bed with the best kind of tired, its all a blessing. Its life, its a good life, its a full life and God has blessed me with it all. I am grateful to God for what I have.

Holidays also make me feel nostalgic. As I introduce my children to the experiences that make up my memories and essentially shaped who I am, I experience a feeling, do you know the one? The one you get when travelling to Grandma & Grandpas house while looking out the window as you reminisce on the holidays gone by. You want to share your thoughts and emotions but its hard to put them into to words so you just keep staring out the window, soaking in that feeling and taking in the familiar scenery that somehow becomes more valuable the older you get. That one, that feeling. I am grateful for that too.

This post was written by one my very best friends Shar in response to my last post. I am so grateful for our beautiful friendship and thank you for this letter! See the previous post here if you missed it.

Don't be sorry. 

Don't you ever apologize for prioritizing your family and spending time being the best mommy you can be. 

When you cancel plans, I know it's not because our friendship means less to you now than it did before. 

I understand that days are long and difficult and happy and frustrating and that you can't always do it all. 

You are important. 
Raising children who can help to make this world a better place is important.
I see you. And I value the work that you're doing. 

I don't mind having conversations with you while your toddler tugs at your sleeve, asking for attention. I can't think of anything more precious than seeing you become a mother. 

It brings me happiness to see you blossoming into motherhood and contributing to the world on a level I am not yet familiar with. 

When you prioritize a girls night over a night with your children or partner, I understand the sacrifice you are making. 

I also understand that adult time is important for you. To remind you who you are and keep your sanity. Even if rarely, I relish in being a part of this reminder of your past-self, but I never expect to be your number one. 

I will never forget you- or the memories we have. I will always have a seat open for you at the table- when you have time to re-engage. 

Thank you for setting an example for me. For showing me that motherhood is a daily struggle, one of the hardest jobs in the world - but one of the most beautiful things a woman can do. 

Whether I decide to have children or not- we will always find a way to connect. 

I love you, I know you're trying your best to find balance and that your love is simply being divided in more pieces now. 

Thank you for not feeling guilty about prioritizing those precious humans and for letting me be a part of your journey.
