15 Minute Everyday Makeup

I don't feel like I need makeup on to leave the house but I do enjoy wearing it and I love the process of getting ready in the morning. In this makeup tutorial, I take you through my current everyday makeup routine. This look takes me about 15 minutes to complete. The focus is on skin, foundation products are my favourite and the eyes are super simple. I have key makeup pieces in my makeup bag which is what I get ready with each morning. This is a time saver as I am not searching through all of my makeup each day to find what I need. When I try something new, I switch the products out in my makeup bag so the products don't get out of control.

Here is what I am using and doing right now to create a quick, polished, everyday look. Thanks for watching!

I have linked the products I used below, if you want to check any of them out for yourself.

Spring Makeup Tutorial | Caryl Baker Visage Free Spirit Collection

I have been having so much fun creating a glowing spring face with the Caryl Baker Visage, Free Spirit Collection the last week. I instantly loved this palette because when I have almost everything I need in one place, it makes life easier and I am all about efficiency. The mirror in the palette is huge for an easy full face application. The makeup pans are individually refillable which is smart so I can refill just my favourite colours when they run out. The pigments are vibrant and the products are blendable.

All of the shades in this collection compliment each other beautifully so I will be able to create a variety of looks. I don't like to limit myself to just use shadows on my eyes and blush on my cheeks so I consider all colours fair game for creating new looks. In the makeup tutorial below, I show you how I used one of the eyeshadows to contour my face. I hope you will check out this tutorial, I share lots of tips for using the Free Spirit Collection and some more reasons I love this makeup! If you want to try the Free Spirit Collection for yourself, you can visit a Caryl Baker Visage location and have the colours applied on you. That is one of the reasons I love CBV, you have an opportunity to try the products before you buy them, with the assistance of a Face Expert.

Here is the full makeup tutorial.

You can find a full description and pricing on the Caryl Baker Visage Free Spirit Collection here.

If you are in Sarnia you can connect with our Caryl Baker Visage on Facebook or Instagram.

Many more spring makeup tutorials, beauty tips and fashion trends to come.

Stila Stay All Day Review

I received the Stila Stay All Day Foundation in a PR package a few weeks ago and was so excited to try out a new full coverage foundation, (full coverage foundation is my favourite). I have been wearing this foundation everyday for almost three weeks now and am happy to share my thoughts.

Here is how Stila describes this product.
"Stila Stay All Day Foundation is a lightweight, high definition, buildable coverage, oil free, matte foundation. Conveniently hidden inside the cap is a creamy, full-coverage refillable concealer that blends seamlessly to instantly neutralize under-eye circles and hide skin imperfections. This ultra long-wearing, water resistant formula is designed to Stay All Day, and looks and feels natural on skin."

What I love about this foundation.
The coverage is buildable, when you use less product you achieve a more sheer coverage and when you use a full pump or more of the foundation, you get a flawless finish, so the product is versatile. This foundation lasts for most of the day on me, but by the end of the day it has broken up in my t-zone revealing my skin. I did love the finish and coverage though for the time it lasted on my skin. The product has no fragrance and is comfortable to wear. I love that the concealer is in the cap and the colour with peach undertones really brightens my under eye! I will continue to wear this foundation for everyday.

What I don't love about this foundation.
The pump for the foundation is a little tricky to use. If I just wanted a half pump for a light coverage look, or if I wanted a half pump more to add another layer of coverage I ended up wiping product away and throwing it in the garbage. As I said in the video, I have oily skin, so on me this was not a matte finish foundation. In my makeup artistry work, I would use this product on normal to dry skin types for the best skin type match. When applied to dryer skin, I do think this foundation would wear longer and more matte but not as much on an oilier skin type.

Check out the shade range of the Stila Stay All Day Foundation here.

I am so grateful to have received this product and I hope you guys found this review helpful. I shared my thoughts in a first impression video/vlog as well, check that out here.

My Favourite Fragrances

Since our first Christmas together, Tyler and I have been gifting each other with fragrances for holidays and special occasions. It is really fun to smell through a fragrance section and try to choose one that will suite your loves personality. It is also awesome to have a collection of different fragrances to wear that will compliment different situations and looks. Lastly, my fragrances now hold special meaning. My favourite is Chanel Mademoiselle this is the first fragrance Tyler ever gifted me in the travel set . I love the smell, I love its staying power, I love how it makes me feel so womanly, I love that he loves it and I experience so many memories every time I wear it. Chanel Mademoiselle is definitely the overall fragrance of my closet. When your loved one is choosing a fragrance for you, you know its pleasing to them too, which I think is pretty special. Anytime Tyler takes the time to choose something for me, I always hold it dear. My favourite fragrance on Tyler is Bleu Chanel. Chanel can really do no wrong with fragrances in my opinion, expensive yes, but they last and the quality is exceptional.

If you need some last minute Valentines gift inspiration, check out some of my favourites fragrances below.

Lipstick Queen Dating Game Collection

In this video watch as I try on the Lipstick Queen Dating Game Collection and offer you my initial thoughts on this creamy pink lipstick collection. There are four medium coverage, creamy lipsticks to choose from featuring a nourishing formula with Shea Butter and Vitamin E, for beautifully conditioned lips. I love this creamy lipstick formula, the downside is that it does transfer when you kiss your Valentines. My whole household has been rocking my personal favourite shade, Mr. Right Now;) If you prefer a hydrating lipstick that allows you to rub your lips together, you will really like Lipstick Queen lipsticks. The variety of undertones offered in the Dating Game Collection is sure to provide you with a pink that is perfect for you. The Lipstick Queen Dating Game Collection will launch February 1st and you can find it at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques and BeautyBoutique.ca

Glitter Makeup Hack | HAL Makeup Artistry

In this video I used craft glitter from the dollar store to create a fun makeup look. I loved the way the look came together. In comparison to my Stila and Urban Decay glitters (actual makeup glitter), the main differences were how the glitter felt on my eyes all day and its fall out throughout the day. The craft glitter had a much more chunky texture, so I could feel it on my eyes and because it was a more course glitter, some pieces did land on my cheek throughout the day where as my makeup glitters do not do that. I am so glad I did this little beauty experiment, I think this technique for glitter might be best for someone who wants to wear glitter for one party, (aka might wear glitter once a year) and doesn't want to make the investment for one time use.

If you would like to try the good stuff for a special occasion, that is what I carry in my professional makeup kit and I make house calls to help you get glit! You can always book an makeup appointment with me through my email heatherlapier@gmail.com.

I would love to hear any of your beauty experiments or hacks in the comments below. Thank you for watching!

Estée Lauder Double Wear Review

I have been using this foundation for a few weeks now and anyone who knows me knows I LOVE full coverage foundation! I have been trying full coverage foundations for months now testing and comparing and they really are all so different.

I shared about the Urban Decay All Nighter awhile ago here and how much I loved this foundation for its coverage and long wear. I feel the same about the Estée Lauder Double Wear Foundation but there are a few characteristics that make it different.

First I love the colour I found in the Double Wear, I am currently wearing Tawny and it has the perfect yellow undertones. Having the perfect colour match for foundation is always important but it’s especially important with full coverage because it’s a little trickier to blend in and fake. Second, while the coverage is outstanding with this product if does not feel heavy at all, you have to try it to fully understand. Third, it doesn’t budge all day. It requires a little extra scrubbing at the end of the day when washing my face but I don’t mind, I know once I apply my makeup I don’t have to think about it again. Because the product really sticks to your skin you need to work fast when applying it and in sections. I like to apply a little to my forehead, work on that area and then move on to the next section.

Another great beauty product discovered and added to my collection! In the new year I am revamping my professional makeup kit and the colour range of Estée Lauder Double Wear will be added to that collection for sure.

How To Contour & Highlight Using Powder | HAL | Caryl Baker Visage Contour & Highlight

I always get questions about contouring and highlighting so this video is focused specifically on that. I am using powders to contour and highlight my face in this video because I think those are the easiest products to work with when you are learning these techniques and powders are also the most efficient to work with.

Similar Caryl Baker Visage products can be found at the links below, these powders do not come in the palette form anymore but as singles so you can choose only the ones you need.
