Lipstick Queen Dating Game Collection

In this video watch as I try on the Lipstick Queen Dating Game Collection and offer you my initial thoughts on this creamy pink lipstick collection. There are four medium coverage, creamy lipsticks to choose from featuring a nourishing formula with Shea Butter and Vitamin E, for beautifully conditioned lips. I love this creamy lipstick formula, the downside is that it does transfer when you kiss your Valentines. My whole household has been rocking my personal favourite shade, Mr. Right Now;) If you prefer a hydrating lipstick that allows you to rub your lips together, you will really like Lipstick Queen lipsticks. The variety of undertones offered in the Dating Game Collection is sure to provide you with a pink that is perfect for you. The Lipstick Queen Dating Game Collection will launch February 1st and you can find it at Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutiques and BeautyBoutique.ca

OOTD | Work Style

A little story about these distressed jeans from H&M in the Lambton Mall. The style is Vintage Skinny High Jeans. I got a lot of questions about them during my Lambton Mall Instagram Takeover. I originally purchased them in a size 28 but after trying them on once more at home, I exchanged them for a 26. I love the way they look snug better than relaxed and because they have spandex in them, I know they will give over time. I decided I am willing to put up with the super snug fit for a few wears, until they relax a bit. I hate it when my jeans bag out too much and I am pulling them up all the time, so I am hoping these beauties hold their shape because I LOVE the style.

For this work outfit I wanted to look chic and effortless. Each piece is simple but also special. The denim fits well so it doesn't look sloppy, the top is just a t-shirt but the ruffle makes it feminine and the tailoring of the coat gives the whole look a polished finish. The jeans and coat  are from H&M and the top is from Lace & Charm. The top is no longer available from L&C but they have a lot of other fun ruffle pieces in right now (I have my eye on some ruffle joggers). I did find a similar top and linked it below.

I am very excited to have this coat in my collection, I think the colour and style will be one I can wear in winter, spring and autumn. I have really been giving a lot of thought to my outerwear collection lately and am loving how the right coat creates the perfect outfit.

What is your favourite coat style right now?

These Days January 2018

When we complement Luke on his intelligence or being a great big brother he responds with “I am” I love his matter of fact confidence.

I am grateful!

We talk about where Luke will attend school. I wonder if he is ready and I wonder if I am ready.

I love being in hermit mode, staying inside for days on end in cozy clothes.

I love to get out a little for work, get dressed up and get creative.

Elizabeth is talking so much. She especially loves to sing. She will sing along with the choir in church and most other music. I think singing is part of her calling.

Our current sound track is Trolls.

Tyler and I stare in amazement at our children.

Luke loves to cut paper with children’s scissors.

Luke’s morning voice is so sweet.

For awhile I thought Elizabeth yelled because she was angry but I thinks it’s just one of her volumes.

Luke loves to hide on Tyler or I when we come home for work and then jump out and scare us.

Tyler and I often fall asleep while putting the kids to bed at 8pm, Ty snuggling with Luke me snuggling with Lizzy.

Elizabeth is so sweet and so fierce.

Elizabeth is daring.

Luke is a sweet brother.

We make crafts often and I am teaching the kids the stories of The Bible.

We eat dessert after most dinners these days, cookies or chocolates, sometimes ice cream, we get messy, laugh and sometimes teach the kids new words or a few French words, I am loving this dinner tradition.

These days are so sweet my heart hurts. Luke knows now that I cry often but its always a happy cry.

Glitter Makeup Hack | HAL Makeup Artistry

In this video I used craft glitter from the dollar store to create a fun makeup look. I loved the way the look came together. In comparison to my Stila and Urban Decay glitters (actual makeup glitter), the main differences were how the glitter felt on my eyes all day and its fall out throughout the day. The craft glitter had a much more chunky texture, so I could feel it on my eyes and because it was a more course glitter, some pieces did land on my cheek throughout the day where as my makeup glitters do not do that. I am so glad I did this little beauty experiment, I think this technique for glitter might be best for someone who wants to wear glitter for one party, (aka might wear glitter once a year) and doesn't want to make the investment for one time use.

If you would like to try the good stuff for a special occasion, that is what I carry in my professional makeup kit and I make house calls to help you get glit! You can always book an makeup appointment with me through my email heatherlapier@gmail.com.

I would love to hear any of your beauty experiments or hacks in the comments below. Thank you for watching!

OOTD | You Are My Sunshine | Bluenotes

This outfit is pretty simple, something nice to wear on a regular day running errands with the kids. The colour of the sweater is what I think makes it special. This duster style of cardigan is everywhere this season and when I saw them in the store I was drawn to the grey one but I made myself try on the yellow. I am so glad I did because this sunny colour brightens my day and during my grey Canadian winter, I often need an extra dash of sunshine. The top is simple too but the polka dots are fun and the jeans pretty much feel like leggings, winning! (If you hang out here often you know how I feel about leggings). The whole outfit is from Bluenotes in the Lambton Mall. When I shopped this outfit a few weeks ago Bluenotes had a great BOGO sale on, right now they are offering 30% off all new arrivals. This post is not sponsored, I just got the text today with the discount details though, so I thought I would share that. Photos by Cass Crowe Photography

God's Love Is Greater | 2 Corinthians 5:17

Hey guys, it has been on my heart to share a story and a time in my life that I am not proud of. I can share it with you today though, confident in who I am because of Gods amazing and endless grace. I am a new creation and my past is as far as the east is from the west because Jesus is my saviour.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Mandakani Yoga

A few weeks ago I attended a restorative yoga class at Mandakani Yoga in Corunna. It had been months since I attended an actual yoga class, I do my own practice at home from time to time but normally stick to what I know at a pace that is comfortable. I was super excited to check out my friend Shannon's new studio and take one of her classes that I chose my class based on the time slot, not so much the type of practice I wanted.

Shannon offers a wide variety of classes for beginners to advanced yogis, you can check out her schedule here  and I have taken classes taught by Shannon before and loved them, so I knew I would like anything she teaches.

Restorative yoga is a slower pace class, focusing on just a few poses and relaxing into each one for longer periods of time. I was not prepared for this class mentally. I went into it thinking it would be relaxing but it turned out to be extremely mentally challenging for me. There were points in the class where I experienced guilt for not being more productive with my time on the mat or away from my family, my mind drifted to; to do lists and even some other emotions I didn't enjoy. It took me at least half the class to slow my mind down.

After class I had an opportunity to chat with Shannon and share some of the emotions I experienced during the class. She put me at ease that I wasn't alone in my challenges with this style of yoga. I always learn so much when I am on my yoga mat and when I challenge myself through my practice and that doesn't always mean in the form of a fancy pose. Shannon didn't realize but that night she created a space for me to feel some stuff I was avoiding and face a fact that I need to be more conscious about how fast I move.

I can't wait to take another yoga class at Mandakani, take a time out, face some challenges and learn something new. If you have never tried yoga, and especially if you live in Corunna, you need to check this place out.

Lots of love,
Audrey

The Great Commission For 2018

I am not much of a New Years resolution person but I am always working on improving myself, setting goals and praying for God’s direction and strength as I move into new chapters of life.

I was feeling a little overwhelmed with one particular goal as I stepped out of bed on last Friday morning.

My Bible study pointed me to Mark 16 15:19
"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.  And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well. '"

I am saved and so all of Jesus’s strength is with me in everything I do! I have faith that with Jesus I will accomplish amazing things and I will start my New Year with a hopeful heart for the work of God in my life. There is work and planning required on my part and I am excited to get at it and to see what God will do through me next.

The enemy strives to overwhelm us and fill us with hopelessness because he is aware that all things are overcome through God. We need to believe with our hearts and minds and work with our hands and feet in a faith filled way that God is overcoming. God has already overcome and when we are saved His power is with us and within us. That just gets me right fired up, who is with me? And, who is pumped to see what God has in store for us in 2018!

Happy New Year
I love you!
God loves you!

Christmas Vacation 2017

I am not sure what to say that has not been said before. I love Christmas more every year, it gets more fun and I love the little things woven through the big holiday season moments.

I thought a lot about traditions this year, we celebrate some old traditions that have been passed down from our families but we are creating our own now which is pretty cool too.

Here are some traditions or moments I would like to remember from this holiday season.

An impromptu snowy family photo shoot.

Getting together with family from out of town, no matter the distance.

Christmas concerts on fire places.

Christmas Eve service in our very best Sunday best!

Cooking in my Mrs. Claus apron.

Scavenger hunts for gifts.

Snuggling up with Christmas books. We do a Christmas book advent with the kids and open one Christmas book each day in December before bed.

Luke’s sweet and soft voice on Christmas morning, waking me up “it’s Christmas, Merry Christmas” a sound I will never forget, locked in my heart forever.

Christmas day in our pjs, playing, eating and moving slow as a family.

Dance parties!

Winter walks.

Doing everyday life together like going to the grocery store. To me these moments are a gift, just doing life, our little Lapier squad.

New Years Eve as a family! We decorated cupcakes, watched the countdown on TV, ate appetizers, danced and blew our horns. Lizzy was in bed by 8, followed by Luke at 9 and mom and dad at 11:30.

We actually had plans to go out but changed our minds last minute and did what we really wanted to do, chill. It was an awesome way to start our New Year. We need to focus on us, whats good for us and our family, look more at each other for direction, not so much on whats going on around us.

I hope your Christmas and New Year was filled with all the great stuff that makes you happy and that you are pumped for the year ahead.

I love you and am so glad you have spent time with me hear.

xoxo
